Bursaries for IMC19
The IMC19 Congress Organisers is pleased to advise a number of bursaries are available to assist delegates in attending the IMC19 Congress.
How to apply
- Applicants will be required to submit an abstract through the Abstract Submission form and email their application/nomination with supporting documentation to their respective societies.
- Bursaries deadlines are aligned with the below Congress key dates.
- For most cases applicants must be financial members of their respective societies.
- Further information on how to apply are noted below.

Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Society (AMMS) Awards
The Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Society Inc. (AMMS Inc.) is pleased to offer bursaries to AMMS members who are Australian or New Zealand residents to assist them to attend IMC19/ACMM25. Bursaries are available to research higher degree students (RHDS), early career researchers (ECR) (within 5 years of being awarded their PhD at time of conference), and junior technical staff (JTS) (within 5 years of commencing employment in this role at time of conference).

French Society for Microscopy (Société Française des Microscopies, Sfm)
In order to facilitate their participation at IMC19, the French Society for Microscopy (Société Française des Microscopies, Sfm) is happy to award 5 scholarships of 2000 € to french Sfm PhD students or post-doctoral researchers, as well as 10 bursaries of 1000 € to Sfm permanent researchers.
Applications have to be sent before the abstract submission deadline to email@example.com and Catherine.Venien@impmc.upmc.fr, cc to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com. They will contain:
- short CV
- covering letter signed by the director of the lab and the supervisor for PhD student
- submitted abstract to IMC19
- estimated budget

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED
To support young researchers, scholarships of 800 Euro each will be awarded for participation at the 19th International Microscopy Congress (IMC19), to be held from 9-14 September 2018, in Sydney. Due to a generous donation from the French Society of Microscopy (SFm), EMS is able to considerably increase the number of grants for ICM19.
The application deadline is fixed as the ORIGINAL conference abstract submission deadline for IMC19 (February 1, 2018).
Each applicant must submit at least one abstract and has to be registered at the meeting (Registration Deadline – 10 May 2018). A copy of the abstract(s), registration details (when available) and proof of student or early stage researcher when applicable have to be added to the application. Depending of the number of demands we will try to serve also early career researchers. The early career researcher criterion is met if his/her Ph.D. thesis was completed within five years from the date of the Congress). The application including a short CV should be sent (preferably by -email) to the EMS Secretary: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that only EMS members are eligible for EMS scholarships.
